About Us
* John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Movement, had three simple rules to live by.
Do No Harm, Have I rejoiced or grieved with my neighbor, which benefited my neighbor's condition? Have I received my neighbor's shortcomings and failures with understanding and concern, and not with anger? Have I taken an opposing viewpoint from anyone when I had no good reason to, or have I argued where there was no chance of changing my neighbor's opinion? Have I been so concerned with being right that I refused to let a neighbor in the wrong (in relatively unimportant matters) have the last word?
Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can.
Attend upon all the ordinances of God, "Have I made time for thanking God for the blessings of this past week? Have I, in order to be more aware of them, seriously and deliberately considered all the circumstances surrounding these blessings? Have I considered each of these blessings as an obligation to great love and truer holiness?" Have I attended all of the Ordinances of God? Have I worship God for His faithfulness, Prayed without ceasing, and studied to show yourself approved of God in order to honor God and to grow in your personal relationship with Him?
To God Be the Glory!
Who by the power at work within us is able to exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout the ages, world without end.
Amen!
Lead Pastor Shane Frederick:
Shane Frederick
Lead Pastor
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! My name is Shane Frederick, and I am humbled and honored to be your pastor. My wife Rachel and I are enjoying the opportunity to serve Emmanuel Church, the city of Carmi, the citizens of White County, and all who God places in our path.
I am from Rockcastle County, Kentucky, and a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College. I was "saved by grace through faith" when I was 10 years old and accepted the call to ministry when I was 13. I met my wife on April 5, 2008, and we married on June 19, 2010. The Spirit of the Lord eventually led me to finish my Master of Divinity degree at Asbury Theological Seminary. I have been preaching and teaching in some capacity since I was 15 years old. I have been a pastor since December 2008 serving in Nazarene and United Methodist Churches.
My wife Rachel is also from the Bluegrass state and she was raised in a pastor's family throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She is a double graduate of Lindsey Wilson College with her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in the Counseling and Human Services fields. She loves singing, conversation, and most of all: the Lord.
There are numerous stories of God's grace in our lives. Nothing gives us more pleasure than hearing your stories and sharing Jesus with you. We are delighted to "serve the Lord with gladness and enter his courts with praise" at Emmanuel. "May the Lord bless you and keep you!"
